Chihuahua Rescue Indiana is dedicated to serving the community and animals, for the betterment of all lives. We are always looking for foster homes and volunteers to help with the animals and adoption events.
Not ready to adopt, but love animals? We can save more lives if we have foster homes where the animals can stay until they are ready for adoption. By opening your home to a homeless pet, you are helping save many more lives than just that one.
We feel all animals deserve a second chance and we will do our best to rehabilitate dogs that have behavioral problems and even aggression. We care for our animals until we find the perfect home, and always take them back if circumstances change for our adopters.
We do screen our applicants carefully to ensure both animal and family are finding the perfect match. We also believe in a foster-to-adopt program for some animals, to make certain the match is perfect.
Girl of the Month
Bella Elizabeth, who goes by "Lizzie," came back to the rescue after having been with her adopter for 5 years. At close to 9 lbs, she was massively overweight. She's been on a restricted diet and is losing weight. She will stay in foster until much of the excess weight is gone; her goal weight is about 6 lbs, Lizzie's adopter will need to keep her on a measured diet to keep her from regaining excess weight.
Boy of the Month
Hi, my name is Buddy Love, at 4 years old, I’m as smooth as Tennessee whisky (smooth charmer, that is), I’m as sweet as strawberry wine, once I get to know you and my nerves have subsided, I’m as warm as a glass of brandy, when I snuggle up to you and fall sleep on your lap. But this takes time and patience from my new people. I love to take walks and play fetch. I’m not so fond of car rides but will go quietly if I’m secure in a crate. Once you get to know me, I’ll be your Buddy for life.

Senior of the Month
Siro's owner unfortunately passed away, which brought him to our rescue. He is a very sweet old soul that thrives in an environment that is more calm. He does well with other small dogs, but would probably do best in a home without kids or with older kids. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly preventatives.

Bonded Pair of the Month
Tango and Champ are 7 year old bonded brothers that need to be adopted together. They came from a loving home and owner that passed away on Christmas Eve. These handsome boys are low maintenance, obedient, loving, good natured, and pet friendly. They will be great companions for their next owner.
