Accepting Applications for Fosters and Volunteers!
Look under "How Can You Help?"

Chihuahua Rescue Indiana is dedicated to serving the community and animals, for the betterment of all lives. We are always looking for foster homes and volunteers to help with the animals and adoption events.

Not ready to adopt, but love animals?  We can save more lives if we have foster homes where the animals can stay until they are ready for adoption.  By opening your home to a homeless pet, you are helping save many more lives than just that one.

We feel all animals deserve a second chance and we will do our best to rehabilitate dogs that have behavioral problems and even aggression.  We care for our animals until we find the perfect home, and always take them back if circumstances change for our adopters.

We do screen our applicants carefully to ensure both animal and family are finding the perfect match.  We also believe in a foster-to-adopt program for some animals, to make certain the match is perfect.

Girl of the Week

Daisy is a dachshund mix with very big ears and longer legs. She's 1-2 years old, loving, and really enjoys sleeping in the big bed. She is more interested in people than other dogs, is very smart, and would love an active family to call her own!

Boy of the Week

Hot Dog was a stray, and is about 18 months old and weighs 7.5 pounds, although he looks and feels much lighter because he's long and skinny, like a HOT DOG! He will rub your legs like he's a cat, nibble your fingers, and he howls like coyote sometimes.

Senior of the Week

Sissy is a foodie! She is overweight, but is on a strict food diet and gets exercise everyday. She seems to be well trained, will walk on a loose leash, come when you call her, and sits for her treats. She loves toys, especially her turkey squeaker, and loves having a soft bed to lay in.

Bonded Pair of the Week

Pixie (mom) and Trixie (daughter) are the PERFECT combination of cute and active and loveable! Pixie is a quiet girl and a little shy and loves laps, soft beds, and burrowing in a blanket. Trixie is 1-2 years old and a terrier in nature, very playful!
